Hello to all. I have just joined the forum but have enjoyed browsing for a while now. My 92 XLT has 498,000 km and its time to go. I am looking at a couple of 00's and here is where my problem is. I have tested 2 SOHC's and both show signs of a rattle from the timing chain. I know this is a problem with these engines but I also noted a hesitation when accelerating from about 30 MPH. Has anyone else noticed this and is it related to the timing chain issue? Thanx in advance.

welcome! the only question i have is why even deal with it? buy a 99, or an 02. just step right around those possible built in headaches.....

also, i'm pretty sure that timing chain issue has been addressed, search for a thread on it........

Welcome to this forum! The hesitation might be related to the fuel filter, or FPR.
