haktmal, the one for your truck will be more like $150. Check ebay, there's always some for sale on there.

Do you know if this is a general code scanner or is it made specifically for Explorers only?

Say if years down the road and I sell the X, does it mean I can't use my scanner for ... umm.. a Mini Van?

Yes you'll be able to use the scanner for a minivan. All OBD II scanners are the same since the feds standardized them in '96.
