Thats one of the last things I'm still wanting to do to my X.. HID (either retrofit or projectors). I'm probably going to be ordering some this week for the low's and also for the fog's.
they have to be retro fitted, no one makes any projectors for 3rd gens yet, i dont think anyone on here has done this to a 3rd gen ex yet, just 2nd.....
I actually have a set of HIDs to arrive any day now on my 03'. Its a simple plug and play setup. I can try to post some pics when I get them in for you all to see if you like them. They have different colors values on a "K" scale. The higher the K value, the blue the light is, but then you sacrifice brightness. The 6000k will be your brightest, a pure white color. 8000k is still really bright is around the BMW, Benz, Navigator look of the lights.

yea that "k" you keep talking about is actually kelvin temperature, the higher the kelvin temperature the more light your gonna lose, 4300K would be the most useful but not always the "coolest" looking.....
Ah yes, that was the word I was looking for. Well I just put my set in, 8000K, I gotta say, so far it was money well spent. They are 3x-4x brighter, and lights about twice the distance down the road, its an amazing difference. You can't even see the high beam, yellowish light with them on. It was well worth the $135 off of ebay. Took about 10 mins. to hook the system up, took longer to find somewhere to mount the ballast/igniter than to hook everything up.
on my lightning i put the ballast up away on the core support and up under the bumper for the fogs. My buddys a vendor so he gets them for $240/per kit, GT-HID is the name of the kit and its all plug and play, if interested e-mail him with bulbs size and temperature, pretty quality stuff imo...
from my experience no matter where you buy your grill wether it be ebay or a big name like stull or ss the black paint in between the bars will ALWAYS start chipping/peeling after a while...
