I have a 96 explorer V6 with a 40 series exhaust. I saw that the car has two cats and the oxygen senor is behind the second one. I was wondering if i could do a straight pipe or will it not work cause of my oxygen sensor

If i got high flo cats will i have to get two or can i just use one. Please help I don't know what to do. Thanks for your help

I believe your O2 sensor is ahead of (upstream)the cat. It does look like two units but both together make up the catalytic converter. I would not recommend replacing the cat with a straight pipe. Your engine has an emissions system and the cat is only one of several components. Simply removing it may do more harm than good.
A high flow cat will replace the complete cat unit (both sections). Most I have seen have one chamber and a make-up pipe to bolt in the existing pipe run.
I am also trying to decide which high flow cat to purchase. I have a Borla Cat-Back system on order and I'm guessing that my cat should be replaced after 170,000 miles.
Anyone have some suggestions on high flow cats?????
