Hiss after turning off

I've just done a 5 hour marathon changing the b****y spark plugs. Hands are now in shreds! I noticed after turning the engine off that there is a hiss from the top of the engine. It only lasts for one second but sounds like a giant vacuum leak. Was wondering if anyone elses EX does this. By the way , I fitted new motorcraft spark plug leads while changing the plugs. They all had lower resistances than the old ones which had done 107000 miles.

Check you have not knocked a vacuum pipe off. I know what you mean about your hands. Happened to me when I changed mine.
