HI!
got me a 2010 ST. (love it!)

i have a lot of questions, so if you know the answers they are well appreciated!

1) there is a hissing noise when i accelerate coming from the passenger side.and at low RPMs....wtf?

2)Is there a lift kit, *suspension* out there for the '10?(looking for a 6")
----body lift? (3")

3) best flowmaster to put on?

3)a- and is it hard to redo the muffler?

4) best wheels and size tires? (after the lift)

5) for the 2010 is there a service manual i can get.. (Chiltion or Haynes) or do we use the older explorer service manuals?

thanks :) all answers are welcomed! :salute:

1. No idea - check plastic panels maybe, they tend to come loose.

2. Truxxx spacer is the only suspension - Truxxx: Ford
At least one guy has used a Ranger bodylift on his 07 Explorer (non-ST), trying it on an ST would probably involve even more mods to make the bodylift work - 6" Lifted 07 Ironman

3. I hear the 40 and 44 get good reviews, no personal experience

4. 33"s for bodylift+Truxxx, 32"s for just Truxxx. If you offroad a lot, I'd recommend 16-17" wheels. If you just to light offroad or you are more for show, then you can do anything 16" or up. Wheel and tire combos are more of a personal preference. 1st, figure out what kind of tires meet your needs best. 2nd, find tires you like. 3rd, find wheels to suit. That's what I would recommend, but some people like to do that backwards (I say tires 1st because they're what hits the ground, and, when offroading, tire choice is very important).

5. No idea, sorry.

3)a -- I put on a Gibson cat-back system. Slam-dunk to install. You will have to cut the OE exhaust ahead of the axle to get it out since it is all welded into one piece. It sounds good and kinda loud.

Is it new? V6/V8?

1. Check your intake to make sure everything is tight. Intake is on passenger side. Is your intake still stock? If not, it will be loud.

2. Probably should have bought a different truck if you wanted a large lift. :(

3. Do you have the V8, or V6? If V8, there's 2 huge mufflers: 1 huge resonator up front, and 1 large muffler right after it. Replacing just the muffler won't do much for sound. I tried that with a Magnaflow. Shortly afterwards, I replaced the huge resonator with straight pipe. That really opened it up -- sounded awesome -- the way the 4.6 3V should. However, I felt loss torque.

4. Depends on how much you lift -- if any. Larger wheels/tires will really affect braking, acceleration, gearing.

5. Check ebay for service manuals. I don't think Haynes nor Chilton have anything. An Explorer 06+ manual will work for most everything.

In regards to the exhaust, I have the Flowmaster Super 44 and it's a real aggressive sound. It's got a bit of drone to it so many people don't like it but I have a '10 STA and I'd say it fits the Adrenalin personality. Exhaust was very easy and you do need to remove the resonator and muffler.

the intake is still stock, i checked it seems tight and snug. still something that boggles my mind..

loss torque? do you mean like missing torque? or you lost torque feeling?

yea i was able to haggle for the manual. its actually dealership type, so that should help with the future.

the Adrenalins look really nice..

did you do the exhaust yourself? welding and all or did you use the 'U' bolt clamps?

You lose a little tq from the loss of back pressure but gain hp because the engine breaths better.

I had a local exhaust shop do it and you actually keep alot of the factory pipe going straight back so you only need an extension that is the length of the resonator since the muffler size is virtually the same. I think there was a total of 4 welds.

I did the same thing with my exhaust I think I have 70 bucks into it. My buddy is s welder so that was free.
