Did the plugs today...
What a royal pain in the butt.
Driver side, piece of cake.
Passenger side, holy crap.
I had to make a special tool to remove the back 2 plugs. The rear wasn't *so* bad, but damn that center plug must've taken me a 1/2 hour to remove.
The worst part of the job had to be pulling the boots off. No room at all on that p/s. Original Motorcraft plugs, I swear the gap had to be 150! I'm not kidding, I can't believe she ran at all, let alone fairly decent with those plugs.
Nothing but a crusty nub left. Thankfully I wont have to do this again for a very long time. And, I might have killed myself it was 8 plugs instead of 6.
The results? I used the Autolite Double Platinums. Immediately noticed a smooth as glass idle, nice and tight when driving, noticible increase in pep.
We'll see how it affects the MPG's. I'm counting on it making a big difference due to the condition of the plugs.
