honey - why is there smoke in your truck?
hooked up my new amp/eq last night, and almost blew my sub amp!!!
last night i installed my new amp/eq, and the setup sounds suprisingly good, but it caused my sub amp to smoke(alot) :fire:
i followed directions, mapped all the wires, ran seperate power and ground lines(8g), and daisied from the rca output jacks on my sub amp for the input source for the amp and it ROCKED(for about 3/4's of kid rocks - wanna be a cowboy), wife was *****in, the hound was howling, and suddenly my x was full of smoke
, turns out that the sub amps rca outputs(used for daisy chaining amps) did not like having to share their feed. i'm not really sure why though? the sub amp is supposed to capable of daisying upto 2 additional amps of at least equal strength to the original (360wts) and the new amp/eq is only rated at 300wts(i'm sure thats an over statement
), but luckily i killed the power & unhooked everything, let the sub amp cool down while i rerouted the new amp/eq's input feed to a different source, hooked it all back up and now it all works just fine,
is this twighlite zoneish or what?
any ideas?
