It was fine just 2 days ago, but when I tried to pop her open from in the cab so I could add washer fluid, the cable pulled and clicked, but the hood didn't pop up for me to open it. What am I to do? :fire:

I got out there in the dark and somehow fiddled it open with a bic lighter for the handle, and PB's for the latch. It popped and oppened... I filled the washer fluid. I lubricated everything with PB's and WD40, but now that I've shut it, it won't open again. There's a pivoting part between the actual contact latch and the pull cable and had to be manipulated with a screwdriver to get the hood shut? What do I fix? do I even know what I'm talking about?

is it possible for the secondary latch to latch in a different position?

Ok, I've still been going at this for a day or two now, and there's no way in hell I'm paying gainesville ford $180 for this.

I can pull the cable and feel/hear something disengage. The hood doesn't pop up and cannot be lifted up. However, if I pull the cable again, there is no noise or action. I have to sit on the hood and close it more tightly before I can pull the cable and hear the latch try to disengage again.

this has already happened to me pull the cord easy when you hear it start to give grap the hood and begin lifting you may have to get a screwdriver to knock the latch the rest of the way over to release the hood and unless you want to do this all the time the alternative is to replace it you can get one at the salvage yard for 40.00 and its pretty easy to replace you might need a drill and a some pop rivets dependin on how yours is mounted

$40 at a salvage yard? I've bought trannys for $40 from salvage yards

the junk yard around where i live is severly overpriced i was giving you thier price and what i paid hey mail me a tranny heheheh
