hooking a amp to a factory radio

I've never hooked a amp up to a factory system so I have no idea how to do this. I bought a 10 in. Sony Xplod sub from Wal-mart along with a 2 ch. amp and a 10 in. build your own box. And other things to get the job done. I have a 05 explorer xlt. I pulled out the radio and couldn't find any connections to hook my amp up.

You can all you would need is a line output converter like this one.

splice one end into the speaker wires and the just hook up the RCA to it then to the sub..
What kinda of amp did you get?

It also converts the factory Ford 5V remote turn on, to a 12V, with delay. Not sure if this applies to your 2005 though.

Since you'll be pulling out your stock radio anyway, upgrade to an aftermarket head unit. It will improve the sound quality out of your door speakers and you'll be able to send the bass to the back instead of having it go through all your speakers.
