How are these juncion blocks suppose to work?

I got one that looks very similar at the local autoparts store and none of the circuits were connected. I was figuring I could hook power to one terminal and they'd all have power so I could run accessories. The only thing connected is two adjacent terminals.

I want to setup 2 blocks like this, so that I have both constant power and ignition power that I can hook into quickly rather than splicing.

These are terminal blocks. Only the terminal directly across is electrically connected. You can bring power into one of the terminals and then install jumpers (wires) to each of the other terminals on the same side. Then you can connect whatever you want to the terminals on the other side of the terminal block. This sounds much more complicated than it really is.
 












The empty holes are for mounting them.

Making a bunch of jumpers for those blocks is a pretty easy task. I think I remember some companies actually making "jumper plates" for those at one point in time, not sure if they still exist though.
 












I think you're looking for more of a power distrobution box. I think audio companies like Rockford make them for installing amps. I need to get one too.
 






Go to the electrical department of your local boat shop, like West Marine or Boaters World. They will have the jumper plates.
 






You can buy fuse distribution blocks to do exactly what you want. You run one power wire and it connects to each of the terminals, and you have your fuses for each circuit right there. You can get them at NAPA for cheap. You can get them to hold a couple of fuses or ones that hold like 12 fuses.
 






The knocked out holes are there so you can bolt it or screw it to something. You can buy jumper plates, but making wire jumper is very easy. All you need it wire and termial lugs.
 






Here's a picture of a barrier strip with the jumpers like the other guys are talking about.. this is what i did to avoid running multiple power wires.. i power all my accessories from on spot in the truck.

I hope I am just missing the larger gauge ground and pos wires to power that block
