how do i get the stock HU out?

ok im not gettin a new HU..i need to get the stock HU out so i can paint the sorround to match my truck..any one know how..i don't have the ford tool to remove it..but i shouldent need it right?..thank's

ummmm did my post go unnoticed? i guess so, make your own tool out of some wire hangers, a dremel might come in handy too....it will take you 5 minutes and save you $5.

If you needed it done "NOW", you should have just plunked down the $5 and bought the thing, you cheap bastage.

I would have loved the opportunity to buy the tool several years ago when I had my dash off. Back in '94 the tool was harder to come by. I made a crappy one out of some bent rod stock, but it wasn't that great...This tool is used to remove most Ford radios, so you might find a use it again later...

you don't need anything..i was pullinh the wrong way..i just pushed down on it with my finger's then pulled the right way..and poof..it pulled right out..and i still have my $5
