The 1st gen front shaft barely fit into my 2nd gen with the 1354 in it. I had to pull the $!$$#!@ out of it to get it to the diffy. But it does fit. So my question is.. how much play should there be in it? I mean, the transfer case doesn't move much towards or away from the front differential, does it?

Is my shaft okay until my suspension lift or should I take it out or what?

Neither the t-case nor the front differential move as the suspention articulates. They're both fixed to the frame, unlike a solid axle or TTB setup where the front diff does move.

If it fit, then it fits fine.

So just wait till the suspension lift goes in to worry about lengthening the driveshaft.

Hey V8BoatBuilder.. I have low range. :p :p

That's what I'd do - since you'll most likley be dropping the diff down a few inches, and thus changing the required length of the shaft then.

I know you have low range, and i'm jealous!!... I'm so close to just going onto AA's website, and ordering the adapter. We've had a lot of snow so far this year, and although the AWD is great, being able to have a full control-track setup would be awesome. I have the 4405 t-case downstairs for crissakes!

Make sure you get the 5" adapter and not the 9" adapter like I got! :D
