Got an 06 Explorer Limited

Ive seen some guys confirm here that they had Daytime Running Lights enabled at the dealer. Seems 06+ Fords have the module already and it just needs to be enabled, usually takes 1/2 labor.

I've phoned 3 dealers and all 3 claim it CANNOT be done, that I'll need to buy a DRL kit.

So if anyone can arm me with a document, or steps on how its done, what menu to access with the diagnostics too... I can be more assertive when I bring it to the dealer to be done.

I don't want to add an aftermarket module the truck already has.

Thanks!

sorry about the thing...i think i know what you mean now, i thought your limited didnt come with drl...but i google something up if you want to read this artile

Thats the thing.. from what Ive read on the board there are at least 3 guys that had the DRL enabled without having to buy a module or sensor etc.
Thats what Im looking to have done.

But it seems like this is not a popular thing as the dealers Ive contacted dont have know-how to do it. Or wont bother to look it up for me!

Yea some dealers dont know how to do it, or they dont have that type technician hired. Like for me my dealer doesnt service or program navigation in hawaii, because they dont have the guy hired for that, so if your car is still under warranty, and they will take your old navigation thats not working and send it back to ford, and install a brand new one...try googling largest ford dealer in your area and see what they can do from ...usually the bigger dealers would have some know what are you are talking about

Its done, went to the dealer today, an hour and $49 later I had DRL

There was no parts to buy. no service part nubmer on the bill, just "activate daytime running lights"

So if you're dealer says it cant be done, you can push them that it can.
