How do you remove the door lock cylinder?

My only other problem is I can't lock or unlock my drivers door with the key. The power door lock works. Some say you need to to grab the tab and pull it off. My problem the factory slipped the tab on reverse. To can't pull it off because the horse shoe tap opening is raceing the rear. So you must pull forward I tryed to tap it forward but it slides only so far then it hits the inside by the locking latch. Any idea I even cut a inspection hole to get my fingers in and no dice,

Spray WD-40 into the lock cylinder before you replace it. Graphite is good to add as a dry lubricant after you get the cylinder to turn.

I need to replace the cap that locks on the back of lock and on the rod that attaches to pd lock
 












Butt head

I feel like a butt head. I found out the hard way why the clip is placed on backwards. There's an access panel on the door frame. I thought it was door molding. I took the moldings off and the clip is there to pull out. The plastic clip is broken so I got a cheep copy. It looks close but I can't figure how to clip it to the rod. I found a u tube video on a explorer but how the clip go on the rod was iffy.
 






BrooklynBay, I've had many bad outcomes from using WD-40. NEVER recommend it for lock cylinders! It leaves a sticky residue of beeswax after the solvent dries and that will prevent the lock pins from sliding up and down when the key is inserted.

WD-40 is best suited for spraying your garden shovel after you've cleaned the mud off it and want to keep it from rusting. I won't allow it in my garage. There much better products out there. The whole line of LPS lubricants are great. Locks require a very low residue lubricant like silicone or graphite. The lock cylinder pins are very delicate. Never use a heavy lubricant on them.
