I can get a 2000 Navigator engine, DOHC, intake to oil pan, with the harness and PCM for under $500. It has 120k on it. Guy was putting it in a Mustang before going another route.

Round trip, it's about 7 hours, not including loading and bs'ing.

Would you make the trip?

Yeah, I'd make that drive if I had a car that needed it.

If you're planning on installing the 5.4L engine from a Navigator into your Explorer it may be a very tight fit. The deck height on the 5.4L is greater than the 4.6L which means the engine is wider and taller.

Yeah, LSXkilr did it. Thought I'd toy around with it. Not saying I'd be successful, but the idea is sweet. Engines cheap enough.
How far did you go to get your 4.6 DOHC?

So this engines been listed for 28 days. I start looking at it and of course it gets sold.

Yeah, it'll be a year before I'd start anything, but I'll pick up parts as I come across them.
