I am going to bleed the brake fluid which has been replaced for about 45K in 5 years. I think it is overdue. The previous work was done by a shop. ANd I plan to do it myself this time.

The question is how much fluid I need to buy for bleed all four wheels? Will 1quart (32oz) be enough?

That should be enough. Are you going to gravity empty the lines? I'd keep fresh fluid coming in behind it and not get air into the ABS system.

I don't know if it's the correct way, but I loosened the back passenger side bleeder and let that run until it was clean, then did the back drivers side, front passenger and then the drivers side. And then went back and bled them in the same order.

I am going to get a help to press the brake and at the same time I will loose and close the brake screw. I think what you described is the correct order because EX has two circuit - one for rear breaks and one for front brakes. The rule of thumb is to bleed each circuit in the order of farest from the master cylinder first.

In the description above, you said you empty the line with gravity and then bleed them. Why you do it this way? Can't you just keep adding the fluid until it is clean and then just close the bleeding scew?

When I did mine i used a big jug(i guess it was a quart) plus a half of a small jug, so buy an extra just in case. We started at the back passenger(furthest). We put a clear hose on and just pushed/pumped the brakes until all the air and dirty fluid was out, and then moved on to the next wheel, filling the master up as we went to make sure it didn't suck in air.

Plenty. check out the link in my signature for a brake bleed and replacement vid.

Did anyone have to rent a code reader which can open the ABS for total bleeding? I was told that this is a special reader with special capabilities for manufacture.

Another question. Is it better to take the tire off for bleeding?
