How to make your own Custom 3rd Brake Light (w/pics)

My first custom 3rd brake light wasnt that good so i decided to make an improved light.

You will Need:

-1 spray paint can (the color of your choice)
-Stickers that you want to show up when you hit the brake
-and your 3rd brake light

First you remove your 3rd brake light using a screwdriver. You take out the 2 screws and unclip the wire connection.
Then you clean the light very good so the stickers and paint will stick.
Next you put the stickers/decal on the light.

Then you spray the color of choice on the light. I chose flat black
so the light would only show up where the sticker was placed.

Spray as many coats of paint as you would like. I sprayed so many that
i lost track so i cant tell you how many i did lol. Let it dry for 20-30 minutes.
Next peel off the stickers carefully. I used a razor to be exact.

Then you can install the light by reconnecting the wire clip and screwing in the light.
I also sprayed the screws with paint so they would blend because they were rusted.

After the light is in wait for night and hit the brake!
It should look something like this.

I am surprised they dint make this a Sticky. I did mine about a couple days ago and it looks great I must have used about half a bottle of black spray paint on the 3rd brake light the sad thing is I put it on and I come to find out both my 3rd brake light bulbs are blown.

Nice Job Guys....BUT, here in NJ, it's illeagal. 3rd brake light can't be obstructed....actually, they don't like the brake light covers either (example: dodge trucks, with those RAM covers) They'll fail inspection everytime.
