How to track your X?

I have seen some people post info in regards to tracking their shipment by train? Can someone enlighten me on how to get the necessary info to do this?

They called Ford's 800 # or asked their dealer for info.

How long do you have to wait until a vin number is avaliable
And do you call your dealer for it

My dealer was able to track it right to the Markham IL train yard and give me the rail car number on Canadian National (CN) Rail. I was not able to track that rail car on the CN website. Next info the dealer was able to supply was its arrival just outside of Toronto and when the transport left with it to deliver it to my area dealer.
