I've lived in Idaho most my life. Married to the same lovely lady for 34 years, one daughter, and 4 grand Grandchildren. I found this site while troubleshooting a tranny leak/shifting problem on a recent Ex purchase. Thanks to the site I changed the shift rail plugs in a couple hours but alas, the tranny gave up the ghost anyway.
I am looking forward to a dependable 4X4 so I can enjoy camping & hunting in my neck of the woods.

Just bought it. Not picture ready yet. Where can I find good info on r & r the tranny/clutch kit/slave cylinder? I sure like the way it drives/handles. But it looks like these EX's are maintenance/labor intensive. Is that a good assessment?
Off to the wrecking yard to pull a tranny today. Thanks, Matt

What is a vanilla model? Is that the color. I'm not to keen yet on other generations of explorers except my own.
