So I'm going to be going to check out a 2003 Explorer Sport this Sunday with the intention of buying it.

I'm used to driving a stick so I know what to look for there, are there any other major problem areas I need to look at before I hand the guy my cash?

Welcome to this forum! How many miles does it have? Check the transmission, A/C, blend door, belts, hoses, fluids, and filters.

It's a little high on mileage, 193k, but from the pictures I've seen of it so far, it's been well maintained.

Good thinking on the blend door, hadn't thought about that one. Weren't they problematic in this body style?
