2003 Sport XLT
I just purchased a 2003 Sport XLT 2 door yesterday, found this site now and thought it would be great to join. Looking to add a few mods to it, like a billet grill, wheels, perhaps some performance items as well. Oh and it's a 2x4, so I'm leaning more towards the "sport" aspect.

Cool, welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site.. Go to one of our site's sponsor Explorer Express http://www.explorerexpress.com for your needs.. You can also try E-bay but be cautious since some products out there aren't up to most people's standards.

Hey thanks, I was going to ask where's a good place to find accessories.. heh

Welcome to the site, this place aint cheap ;) fair warning

From some of the stuff I've seen so far for Explorers, its cheaper than what I just went through! lol I just got out of a Sunfire, you should check out thier aftermarket and compare heh

Hello and welcome wolfsport!
I have the same rig as yours and love it so far. I have 2 questions that you could maybe answer for me. 1. My truck (Trans) makes a 'whirring' sound between 1st and second. I guess Im paranoid about trans issues....Does yours? 2. If Im traveling at 45-50 MPH, (only in O.D.) very light throttle, (Just maintaining speed) 1500 RPM, I hear/feel a sort of vibration. Kinda sounds like when you drive on a rough section of asphalt. Sorta a 'roar' I guess you'd call it. Like something (Exhaust) is at a resonant frequency or something. I only have 9K on it so I think its probably just 'an explorer thing'....Does yours do it? Oh yeah, something i learned from a member here (Spindlecone) Check your upper radiator hose where it touches the trans dipstick. It can wear a hole in the hose! Just tied mine up with zip ties (as suggested by spindlecone) to the accumulator piping.
Thanks, and again welcome

Hello and Welcome Wolfsport

First of all congrads on buying a 2003 Sport.

I myself drive a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport and I am going to do some mods on it too.

I just only got Dual Chamber 2 Flowmasters but there will be more mods coming up.

Keep up the good work on moding your 03 Sport I would love to see some pics of it if you got any to show.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. McToy, I know nothing about these machines yet, still learning.. lol... only thing out of the ordinary so far is the power steering making noises when fully turned, but everyone has told me thats just a Ford thing because the pump and fluid is just fine. I'd like to lower it close to 2 inches, put on an air intake and exhaust. It's going to take me forever to learn how to lower this, and where and what to buy to do it.
The truck is still stock, except the tribal license plate frame but here's a picture anyways..
