1991 Ford Explorer 4x4
Well I finally picked up another Explorer after putting my last one up for sale back in 2005. I picked up a 1991 Explorer after drowning my Camaro in a flash flood. The Explorer is in pretty good condition with the exception of some rusted out sections on each side of the rear rockers at the dog leg by the back doors on both sides. Where is the water coming from that has caused this problem. Is there a channel or vent from the roof rack that could have caused this. Other than that the push button 4x4 does not work or even light up. I replaced the push button controller with no luck. So where do I go from here. Been looking at lots of the forums and you guys have some awesome rides. Just want to say that I am glad to be back.

So I take it that the indicator light does not come on till the shift motor has engaged. Cant seem to locate a diagram for this either. Thanks for the reply.

You may want to check the fuses for the heck of it to see if any of them are blown.

If you need to see where the water is coming in from, you could get in the truck and have a buddy run a garden hose over the top of the truck with you in it, so that you can find the leak.

Hope this helps you out.

Tony
