96 Explorer 5.0L
Hello
I am a new owner of a 96 Explorer 5.0L with 239,535 miles on the odometer the last time it worked. It's a bit of a project but it runs well. It's got a few things that need to be sorted out, nothing to serious, yet...

I found this site looking for why my left turn signal and brake light wouldn't come on. I haven't investigated the connecter in the steering column but all signs are pointing that way.

Switch and wiring connections could be having some issues. Checked the fuses already?

I have to swing my my motorcycle shop and grab a volt meter tonight. The lights go on, except the brake and reverse light on the left rear, all lights go on in the front. All bulbs are good, turn signal makes the clicking noise, no indicator light on dash for the left side, but the right side does light up when signaling left. All lights on front left turn on just no turn signal. Probably a connector, or connectors.

Goodtimes...

Poked around a bit to see what I could see. No power from the harness going back into the truck on the lights that don't work. Looks like everything goes into a junction box inside the left side interior wall. I don't have a schematic so I didn't wanna go all Edward Scissor Hands and make a real mess of the situation.
Looked at the fuse boxes, wow, this is gonna be fun. Lots of missing fuses and lots of fuses too big or too small in amperage for what is labeled on the panel. I should have payed better attention before I bought it.

On a plus, while probing the back lights, I noticed that I have a slight misfire at idle.

Welcome.
