I feel like an idiot.. how do I track my milage?

Alright guys. I haven't taken math since early college! I got 218 miles on 18.003 gallons of gas in my 19.3 gallon tank. How do I do the math to see what my milage would be on that full tank?? I feel stupid! Thanks

218/18.003=12.1 mpg, 12.1x19.3=233.53 miles on a full tank, just curious, is that your usual gas milage? what mods do you have done, because i have a horrible lead-foot but i still can get around 15-16 mpg

Assuming your odometer is reading acurately(sp?) you are getting 12.1mpg..

Divide 218 by 18 and you get 12.1

so, on a full tank you could get about 233 miles

Keep in mind, this only works if you odometer is reading correctly AND you fill the tank up the same both times.

The way the auto companies have rigged the fuel fillers so that they cause the pumps to shut off so soon I dont know how I can be sure of filling it the same each time.
If the pump runs slow enough I can top it off. Usually I just put a bunch in but if I want to try and see what the milage is I have to go to the same station at the same pump. What a pain....
Need to find a seperate milage guage ...

Hey thanks. I just got the fuel pressure regulator replaced. Before I was getting about 6-7 mpg. I have had a very heavy foot lately. I just put on a Dynomax exhaust system, and drilled the airbox. Well I will see what I get next go round. Thanks..
