I have a '99 XLT 4x4 and I'm getting that infamous clunk/rattle/squeak/grind from the front end. Sway bar looked solid but I went ahead and replaced the bushings and both end links as I noticed they were shot, as well as the tie rod ends. Of course none of that made a #### hair worth of difference so I've narrowed it down to ball joints and hubs based on the symptoms and what I've read on other threads as well as having a few mechanics check it out.
The truck has 137k on stock hubs, CV's, etc. (also seen more than enough 4x4 action
) and I was wondering if there would be any damage to the CV axle from driving with sh*tty hubs for so long..coupled with the way I abuse the truck lol. Hubs are already gonna cost me an arm and maybe both legs so I'm hoping I don't have to ##### with the CV's too. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
