Hi all, I traded my Ranger for a 94 Explorer Limited a few weeks ago and have been getting everything working on it except for the 4L. I took the step motor off and yes the shifter shaft goes to 4L with a pair of pliers with no problem, but the motor doesn't seem to turn far enough to go into 4L, 4x4 works fine. I took it off and apart, marked where the top cap was and the gear, it needed the smashed piece of plastic replaced so I used a small piece of cycle gas line for that, cleaned it all up, greased the gear put it back on and still the same. If the stud with the hose on it now is what stops it it seems the gear is in the wrong position, but it's at the same spot as the one I saw and read about on here with all the good pice, etc. So now I'm stumped as to why the motor just turns far enough for 4x4 and back to 2W. Any one have any clues as to why this isn't going the rest of the way to 4L? Looks like it might have to wait again since it's only 13 out right now and supposed to get another 6" of that fine white stuff today, yea haw!
Thanks All, Al

Now I can't find my post or the first one I put in in the new members section. I read and did all that anyway.
