1996 Explorer XLT
I have a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4. Vehicle would not shift out of first gear so I dropped the tranny pan to check shift solenoids/separator plate(DTC 732,733,734 etc). I wish I had a pic to post but there were three pieces of metal 2-3 inches in length that were in the pan. One end of one of the pieces looked like an adjuster for the rear brakes. Any ideas what this piece might be? Time for a tranny? Thanks Brandon

Welcome!
I'm curious - how many miles on the ex? This (intermediate band break) is not an uncommon failure...

You certainly have a rebuild in your future.
