I need help 03 wont stay on

A couple weeks ago the service engine soon light came on, the other day i was on the freeway and the car wouldn't accelerate faster than 40mph, so i turned around to go home, and it just stopped, and turned off, then it wouldn't start, and today i went to try it again, and it started but as soon as i press the gas it shuts off again, does anyone know what could be the problem?

What you should have done is gone to a auto parts place (AutoZone or the sort) and gotten the CEL code read. That would tell you exactly whats wrong.

The gas issue. I had an old F250 that would do the same, and it ended up being the fuel delivery system. I would recommend getting it towed and getting the codes pulled.

the acceleration was the vehicle in Limp mode. I can't believe ANYONE would continue to drive around with a CEL light on, especially freeway driving w/o having the codes pulled. You may have caused extensive damage, but for your sake I hope it's something as stupid as a fuel delivery problem, an MAF issue, or an o2 sensor
