My 4x4 light flashes 10 times every 2 minutes.
From research here, it appears it may be the 4x4 module.
I can get one locally from a 02 V6 but I have a V8

would the modules be the same?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the modules are different between an '02 XLT and an '02 XLS. Also, Ford made a number of changes to the electrical systems in the '02s late in the production cycle. That's why there are early build '02s and late build '02s. I think that's why several people had trouble getting the right replacement modules for their '02s. So, I'd be hesitant about switching with an '02 into your '04.

Forgot to mention that the module is for my Fathers 02. The parts yard didnt have a price on it, I guess its something they dont normally sell. I bet when I phone back to say it is likely the same for my Dads they'll phone the dealer and try to charge me half.. thats the way the usually do it from my experience...I will try to compare part numbers from the original to the one they have before I buy it... if its cheap enough anyway.. no warranty or exchange on electrical parts...

I guess I read too much into your question. I thought you were talking about swapping into your '04 from your dad's '02. :o

I doubt there's a difference between the modules in a '02 V-6 vrs '02 V-8. Just make sure one's not early build and one late build, or one from an XLT and one from an XLS. Late build '02s are 03/02 and later. Of course the problem with getting a module from a wrecking yard is how do you know it's a working module?

As a price point they're about $150 from online retailers. Good luck.
