I have a 2002 ford Explorer four door with a premium sound AM/FM/CD6 1L2F-18C815-AE, the CDplayer went bad and I bought another off ebay.
it is from a 2004 Expedition with Premium sound AM/FM/CD6 4L1T-18C815-CA
the plugins are different. will I be able to buy or build a Harness to hook the 4L1T-18C815-CA to the factory oem 2002 Explorer and will it work? I have read all the stickys and read all of CobraJeff's posts. I have been enlightened quite a bit. as I read sometimes I was feeling pretty good and sometimes I got discouraged. if anyone knows if this will work please Help me out. and if anyone knows cobraJeff please ask him to check this thread. thanks

Captainhighjack -

Sorry, but I don't think I'll be much help with this one. I retired from Ford at the end of 2002 - at that time, not all of the 2004 model year radios had been released. I do not have your 4L1T-18C815-CA radio in my database, so I don't know what model or configuration it is.

What I can do is give you the numbers for a couple authorized Ford radio repair centers in MO, and maybe one of them will be able to help you. Broadway Radio is in Kansas City, MO, at (816) 753-4915; Lewis Radio is in St. Louis at (314) 962-9600.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

regards,

Jeff

Thanks Cobra Jeff

thanks for the reply. I will call them and see if they can help me out. I have read all of your post and you are the master.
