Idle Surge 02 XLT 4.0

Alright, my idle is driving me crazy. For the past two week my idle surges at stoplights and also when I apply the brakes. It started surging today while I was driving. It does seem to be sporatic. Doesn't happen every day but it's freakin annoying and my wife will no longer drive it until it's fixed. Could this be a MAF cleaning issue? Please help. I saw there was a link for cleaning the MAF but wasn't sure if that's my problem. :thumbdwn:

well i just did clean out a huge mouse nest in the airbox. The car was only sitting for the weekend... I wonder if this could have screwed something up, maybe affecting the IAC?

I should rephrase that. The mouse nest thing happened about a month ago. I had to replace the air filter as well. Since then this idle surge has been happening. I didn't put the two together until now.

any suggestions? If it is the IAC, is it possible to clean it?

Cleaning an IAC is possible, however, it has never worked for me.
