Had the throttle body cleaned yesterday and now it doesn't want to return to idle RPM's for quite a while after letting of the gas. Same thing on startup goes to a high idle and then slowly returns to idle speed. Any idea what is wrong? Adjustment maybe?
Does not have a rough idle just slow returning to idle speed.
Thanks!

I quote from Ford Workshop Manual: "THROTTLE BODY- CAUTION: Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and cannot be cleaned, or possible damage to the throttle body may occur."

If the work was done by a suitably responsible shop, and they are unaware of the issues involved, aside from taking my work elsewhere, I would expect them to replace the throttle body at their expense. imp

Got it fixed!
Had to take it to Ford dealer to re-program the throttle body. Seems you
should not need to clean it but if you do clean it or replace the throttle body
it does not re-calibrate on its own and must be re-programed.
I now know not to let the local garage mess with anything other than brakes, shocks and oil changes. Sad part is they are family friends and had to eat a new TPS and throttle body because they did not know that it was something best left to a Ford dealer.
But they do now......
