Try as I might, I couldn't get away from here. Surrounded by a family of Explorers even after I sold my '95 I've been keeping my "Explorer Sense" keen...

And such... my new ride... a 2001 Mounty with 131K miles. Bought to tug my new 17' boat around (the Subie tows it just fine, but at the ramps the clutch pays the ultimate toll). The skinny:

Green/Tan Premier (I think?)
Tan leather
Premium sound (complete with shot display)
V8 AWD
Girly 15" Mounty rims
3.73LS rear end
Solid ride/powertrain

And the first order of business: proper Class III hitch install and replace the left front axle seal on the diff.

Question: Do all the V8s (4R70W) come with a dedicated trans cooler? I noticed the little one up front, and am contemplating if I need a bigger/better one. Boat is only 2400 lbs now but could grow to 3600 lb if you know what I mean

Welcome back! A bigger cooler won't hurt if you plan on towing, off roading or just want to get a lower fluid temperature. The stacked plate coolers are more efficient than the tube & fin coolers.
