Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 95-01 section. Do you have sufficient clearance to drop the pan or is the crossmember in the way?
Hi, thanks for all your help, I already removed all the bolts but can not set it loose, I have space to drop the pan but not enough to tap specially by the sides, already removed starter but some lines are on my way, I will be trying again tomorrow, I am awful tired. Thanks
You could put a long bolt into the drain plug hole an inch or so and then tug on it to release from the gasket.
What engine you got coz if it is SOHC 4L then you will also have to remove the ladder rack to get to the oil pump. This is a lot more involved and requires dropping the axle and or lifting the engine to get the upper sump out. you then have the issue of lining it back up on installation.
Good luck
Hi I tried to find a bolt same thread as oil pan toke plug to home depot and they said the thread is not the same is not npt metric or fine, almost get it loose, help.
sorry for not post anymore, but finally I replace the oil pump, the problem was that at the rear passenger side of my oil pan there is an Allen long screw that was keeping me to take it apart, I removed the screw and the pan came very easily, you have to remove your starter also, bought pump screen silicon and gasket from o'reilly, cost me 163.30 and replaced very easily took me like 1 hour to put it back again. Thanks for your help.
I realize this thread is a couple years old but I was wondering why you decided to replace the oil pump? I have the same engine and the oil pressure gauge has been dropping when Im at stop lights. The check gauge light comes on too. I replaced the oil sender sensor (dummy gauge) and its still doing it. I know its not the sensor because my chain rattles when the pressure drops because the tensioner cant work without proper oil pressure. When I get going up to speed everything goes back to normal and all is fine. Its just when it idles in park or im at stop lights. I have put in new oil and a motorcraft filter. I was thinking the filter may be clogged but i doubt it.
Did you notice any chain rattle if in fact you had low oil pressure? Thanks. Hope you read this.
It wasn't my post but... like me, you probably have increased wear on your cam bearings.
Dump the oil immediately (probably you used 5W20?) and put in 5W50. Or 5W40 with some Lucas. Otherwise will damage even more the engine.
New pump will help only if is high flow rate.

Well get this. I recently replaced the chain guides/tensioners and at first after the repair I was having this same issue after putting in 5w-30 synthetic, which is what ive always put in. So I put in 10w-40 synthetic with lucas and it helped for about a week maybe. I then drove another week or two to see what happened and I eventually drained and refilled with 10w-40 high mileage synthetic (no lucas this time) and it quieted down at first then started acting up again...BUT....then about 2 weeks ago it started running fine with no oil pressure loss at idle and it ran this way until a few days ago and out of nowhere started acting up again. Im wondering if either an oil passage is clogged or there might be an obstruction somewhere. If I had bad clearances wouldnt you think it would always have low oil pressure? Doesnt make sense that it would get good pressure all of a sudden and then lose pressure randomly. It drove fine for over 2 weeks with no pressure issues and coincidentally I had to get a smog done. I passed! lol. I wouldnt have passed if that engine light kept coming on, but like I said, it started running fine with enough pressure and the light was off for more than a couple weeks....until a few days ago. Same issue back again. Something seems off here.
