Hey there. I come from a Lincoln forum where there are not as many categories as you have here, its nice. I learned there the search button is your friend so you will have to excuse my laziness while I am trying to get familiar with the site. My dad is the one who actually has a 2003 Eddie Bauer edition and he would like a new set of rims. I know there are probably hundreds of threads on this but being new I'm not sure where to search the topic. He would really like a set of the Limited chrome rims. We went to a couple of different shops but kept running into the same problem, no one makes 17" rims with the explorer bolt pattern. He wants to stay stock size but he loves chrome and would like a set of chrome wheels. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i would check out whats online.. try SummitRacing or Jegs or something.. u'll be able to see what wheels are available in ur bolt pattern.. I've ordered wheels from Jeg's and I've been pleased with their service.

another alternative would be to use bolt pattern adapters (also known as 'wheel adapters').. but these are costly pieces and will also increase the stance of the vehicle since they are usually at least an inch thick per side.

welcome to the site....

there are tons of manufactures that make wheels that will fit an explorer and in the size you are looking for... in fact, i think a 17" rim was a factory option

Thanks guys, I'll check out those websites. He has 17" stock rims on there now but they are the regular style not chrome which is what he wants. Most bolt patterns we have found are 6 bolts when we have 5 bolts. I thought it was wierd many vendors told us they didn't have the right bolt pattern for the Explorer. It seems every has twenties inch rims but no 17's. I keep looking. Thanks again and this site is full of information, glad I came!
