I'm VERY impressed...snow story

97 Mounty, 5.0, AWD, LSD in rear and I put 31" BFG All-Terrains on her. Had a decent amount of snow Thursday night, had to be to work Friday morning.

The snow wasn't very bad, but the drifting that followed... I ran an apx 50 yard section in which I was pushing snow level with my headlights.

She never once hesitated.

I am very impressed with this thing in the snow. I have read where some have had less than desireable traction with the AWD, but mine behaves just like a regular 4x4.

Not bad for my $800 truck... Excluding brakes, radiator, tires, and misc stuff

My $1000 98 Mountaineer AWD operates very nicely in snow; it'd probably do a lot better if I ditched the stock sized firestone destination le's for a bigger more aggressive tire.

My 2003 had the same AWD system as my 98 but had bigger A/T tires and destroyed snow. I used to park on snow drifts so the plows would plow closer to my property as I was shoveling.

My 97 V-8 AWD is amazing in the snow.My stock size all season tires are about worn out and it still goes great in deep snow.The LSD in the rear and the viscous coupler in the t/case work great together.With real tires,it would be an animal.

my 99 4.0 OHV towed a infinity g-35 through 2.5 feet of unplowed un-drivin snow with little hesitation on nearly bald tires (before i got my new ones =p) i was extremely surprised =D
