What is the life expectancy of injectors in a 4.0 OHV? I saw a set on Ebay for a decent deal they are suppose to be flow tested and exceed OEM has anyone here had to change theirs out yet?
Like Jesse said... you don't really need to change them as routine matainence. Only if they're giving you problems or the 19#ers are not pumping enough due to your other power-adders.
Let's try our hardest to keep this thread on track and we'll pretend we're all adults at least for the night.
One of mine died too. About a year ago. It took a while for me to diagnose, i noticed that listening to it with a piece of pipe allowed me to hear it make a more faint ticking sound when compared with the other 5 injectors... it eventually died completely and the truck ran incredibly rough under load. i though i broke a u-joint cause my truck vibrated so bad. I got it fixed right away. The rest of the injectors are still fine.
I just got done checking all my injectors when i was chasing my idle misfire problem. My x has 170,000 miles and all the injectors had a pressure drop of no more than .5psi among themselves at three different pulse width settings with an otc injector pulser tester.
