People I'm continually having trouble with my inlet manifolds leaking .What is happening when the air outside seems to hit 40degrees plus well in the US that's about 105-110 degrees that at idle she lopes up and down .I have replaced the lower one 3 times in 120k I ve put a straight edge on but the upper one seems ok but the lower one has darker than normal gaskets that's how I can tell they're leaking even when I do the correct tensioning it seems to no avail after a period of time they leak .As they are only thin gaskets would it be appropriate to put a high temp gasket sealeant on them as well to assist?
HELP

I would be tempted to get a new set of Lower O rings and run a bead of RTV or similar type sealant around the outside sealing surface of the manifold so as to not actually have it on the 0 rings, as generally using a gasket sealant on 0-rings is asking for a leak.

I did this with my thermostat O-ring seal and it did the trick.

Cheers.

Done it 3 Times you must be getting really good at pulling those manifolds off buy now.

Mate I can almost pull'em of blindfolded ,the problem is always in between the top and lower manifold ,the base gaskets are fine but it is always the middle ones it seems when it gets too hot the top one must warp out of shape ,I have a air scoop on the bonnet and I've removed the sound come insulation from the hood to get a good air flow but to no good any way I'll try your idea and see what happens thanks mate, have a great Christmas every one
