As much fun as replacing ball joints looks, I think I'd like to prevent it as long as possible.

Can you add grease / zirc fittings without taking the stock ball joints out?

If you can, can anyone show me a picture of what the spot or plug looks like?

Anybody? Are there plugs that can be removed and replaced with zircs?

There are some factory joints over the years that have a plug you can remove and install a zerk. But those seem to be long gone these days. I have never tried to drill and tap a ball joint for a zerk. I don't think you could keep all the metal filings out of it. But I just replaced the lowers on one of my cars. One was OEM, and the other aftermarket with a zerk. I was amazed at how much better shape the OEM was...and it had a lot more miles on it. I replaced them both with a couple of OEM joints I had in stock. Hey...if the original lasted this long, the new ones will last me long enough!

Thanks, I wouldn't want to drill either. If they aren't there now, I'll only consider them on a replacement basis.
