Hello all

I have a 94 XLT with central door lock, and I got a keyless entry device to install on the car.
Before I startt splincing everything away, I would prefer if the more experienced users here could give a quick look on the wiring diagram, just to make sure that I won't fry anything. I am pretty sure that the correct wiring diagram is the 3rd one from the top.
Anyway, let me know what you think.

Also, for something totally unrelated, I have to weld a bracket on the frame, do I need to unplug anything electric like the battery or the ECM or anything else ?
Thanks

return that one to where you bought it, ot wont work.

i put keyless on mine and had to buy this one

keyless from jcw

it is exeactly what you want and easy as pie to install.

the unit will fit right behind the driverside kick panel - where you will be wiring it into your locks.

Once I had the electric diagram for the mocks, it was actually really easy to install, and worked on the first try ;)
The hardest part was to find the actual location of the wires in the cab :D

Yes I know this is an old post that I am replying to, and on some forums they think it is like trying to resurrect the dead but I need some clarification here...

I am installing a remote start on my 96 Explorer and the Yellow/Light Green wire is in a yellow covering or sheath if you will. I read somewhere that the air bag wires are encased in a yellow covering. I just don't want to hook this up to the yellow/light green wire and have it set off the air bags when I test my remote starter.

The connector that this wire goes to is fastened to the right side of the steering column. Is this the right one?

That's interesting but it still doesn't answer my question about the horn wire.

If your worried about air bags going off then your in the wrong section. This is for 1991-1994 they dont have air bags.what year is your truck?96..

Yes it's 96. I just did a search for the horn wire location and this is one of the posts that came up. I didn't notice it was for earlier models. Sorry.
