Is there anything I should know or is this a straightforward proceedure?
I have replaced shockes on my Bronco before...is this similar? A do-it yourselfer or pay to have it done?
thanks,
Nick

That's a pretty good write up, but on my Sport and my friends, the sheild, by the driver's side rear shock that protects the charcoal canister needed to be unbolted and lowered to have more access to the upper bolts. It is possible to undue the upper bolts without removing it, but I found it easier to just lower that whole unit. Not sure if the XLT's have more room, but it's something to consider if you're struggling getting those off.

No difference between the set up on AWD vs. 4x4 setups?
I haven't looked but we are still talking just 4 shocks right?

Should be the same. 4 shocks is all.

I didn't know if they had used struts or any different tweaks on the AWD..
Any thoughts on Brands of Shocks..I see alot about Rancho and the Englebrock...
I suppose everyone has an opinion...
I use this truck for 95% road, and about 5% light off road during hunting season. Our backward state doen't allow any off roading in it's state forests anymore other than fire trails..
