Apologies - I'm sure this question has been asked to death, but I'm having a hard to locating the PIE FRDN-AUX anywhere online, it appears to have been discontinued a few years ago.

Can anyone recommend a suitable alternative to add an ipod and/or 3.5mm audio jack to a factory head unit with the in-dash (i.e. in the head unit) 6-disc cd changer on a 2005 Explorer? Thanks.

I recommend replacing the head unit with an aftermarket unit. Question though, do you have the RES?

I realize that's option, but it's not one I'd like to use unless there's no alternative. No rear entertainment system.
