I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my installation. I am by no means an expert, but I installed my own head unit and think I can handle the Pioneer cd-ib100 ipod interface too.. my only question is can I just splice the power/ground leads for the cd-ib100 right into my head unit wirinig harnass, and is there a right/wrong way to do that?

Not an expert either but it seems like that would be a good source for power for the iPod module. The only issue that I can see is that you should make sure that the current for the head unit and the iPod module should be less than what the fuse is rated for: e.g. if the fuse is 10A, then make sure that the current is less than 10A for both added together.

A slick way to add the iPod power and ground leads would be to add them to the small harness that leads to the head unit, that way if you want to remove it later, you just need to disconnect at the head unit; you could get another harness for the head unit if you needed to.
