ipod install into 2003 explorer limited

I still use my factory audio sysytem in my 2003 Explorer Limited. It has a 6 disc in dash changer. Has anyone done a hardwire install for an ipod? Is it possible to keep my steering wheel controls for functions on the stereo?

If not please give me your after market suggestions for a head unit to interface my ipod with?

If you get a new head unit, I am fairly sure that the steering wheel controls won't work anymore.

Do you want a headunit with an aux input or do you just want to hear the ipod through the stock unit?

I run my ipod through my Panasonic head unit but there is no aux so I got this..

It works pretty good, the sound quality it good at times and not so much at others, I still need to tweek it a bit.

There are several companies that make the hardwire kit for the Ford. You should be able to keep your steering wheel controls.
