is there a cure for the early explorer shakes?

i have a 93 explorer , when im going down the road at different speeds it feels like the whole body shakes . i have new shocks and brand new tires . i had these probs before the new stuff and after. iv read and read where the early models all have simuler problems . is there any fix for this

Well It could be many different things as to why your car shakes. I think the best thing that people have done on this site is to replace your bushings with urethane bushings. Thats what I did and it helped more than anything else. Other than that I'm not real sure what to tell you, everyone has there own opinion on how to fix it....
 






Loose wheel bearings, U-joints, unbalanced tires, etc. its pretty common as you say , mine got a lot better after wheel bearing repack and tighten. Good luck.
 






Mine used to be bad, until I drove into a ten foot ditch, and now it doesn't shake that much at all.
 






Hmm... 10 foot ditch, eh? hehe..

Mine shook at highway speeds... Got the lift, and it stopped... :) Don't know what all was changed then, and I realize I'm not actually helping, just thought I'd say something...
 






Repack and replace the front wheel bearings. That helped mine A LOT.
 






Have you tried tightening all the bolts on your suspension with the suspension unloaded?
