Hello All,

I have a trusty '94 Explorer Sport 4x4, with a regular differential. The right side rear axle seal is leaking. I assume the bearing is shot, but I have not heard any noises from it. Is this something I ought attempt in the backyard? I do not have a slide hammer. This piece has 250K highway miles on it.

Thank for listening, Dennis

You will want a slide hammer to do the work. It makes life easier. Just rent one from the local auto parts chain store.

Here is the thread with instructions.

To find that, I went to the useful thread forum and searched that forum for axle. That way I didn't have to dig through a ton of posts to find it.
