Issue with buttons on steering wheel

About 2 to 3 months ago I noticed my volume down button had stopped working. Was fine on dash controls. Within a few weeks it started working again and hasn't failed since. Now the OK button on left side of steering wheel is doing the same thing. Any suggestions as to what it is? Easy fix? Costly? Covered by FordProtect Premium Care ESP?

I had a similar problem with an Acura I had. It was the clock spring making intermit contact.
