2010 SportTrac
Hi,

I recently bought a 2010 Sport Trac. When driving it home from being rust proofed I heard a metallic noise coming from within the cabin when turning or stopping. When I got home I discovered an "L" shaped piece of black metal, about 8 inches long, under the rear seat. I believe that it is suppose to be a chock for blocking the wheels when changing a flat tire. Could somebody please answer the following for me.

1) Confirm that it is a chock.

2) Should there be 2 of them?

3) How do I secure it inside the vehicle? (a picture would really help)

Thanks very much,
Dalton

how bout a pic of your item and one of jack storage area??

I will go out and look later, I think that is the "strap" for keeping the jack held down in the storage area.

I've uploaded a picture of the part as my profile picture. I'm not allowed to create an album and I don't make use of Flickr, etc, so this is the best way that I know of to display the picture. Sorry.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dalton

Here- it's this thing. It's the wheel chock.

There is only one.

Check the owners manual, or the sticker under the hood, it should show you how to secure the set down.

Yeah, that also keeps the jack in place. I took my jack out before and that piece of metal was clamped over the hole lot, and I can't get it all back like it is supposed to be for the life of me; however, I just kind of put the stuff behind the seat and all's going well so far.

Maybe someone can post a pic of the intact lot in their rig?
