JL Speakers...Good or Crap??

I'm thinking of re-doing my entire system, its just not cutting it for me. I was looking at the VR 5x7 or 5.25 component systems are they any good? I've never heard them or anything about them. Which are better 5x7s or 5.25's. I dont want a competition system, I just want something that sounds good. thanks

I have some JL 5.25/1" components in the front and they sound great. They sound much better than the RockfordFosgate 5x7s that I had in there before. A round speaker will almost always sound better than an elliptical speaker.

I got the JL audio VR 600cs 6" comps in the ex...I think they make the music sound pretty sweet...Car stereo review magazine seems to love them too.

I used to have JL's.

They were great speakers. Don't have them anymore as I sold my truck and then sold all audio bits to friends. I think my stereo eventually ended up in 8 different cars. Anyhow, JL makes some good speakers. I'm sure you'll like them.
